# FAQ

> Common questions from group owners, advertisers, and members.

## Group owners

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How do I start earning?">
    DM [`@CanvasVerificationBot`](https://t.me/CanvasVerificationBot), register your group, and add the bot as admin with restrict-members and send-messages permissions. See [Getting started](/group-owners/getting-started).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How much do I earn, and what's the fee?">
    You keep **90%** of the winning bid per passing verification; Canvas takes a **10%** protocol fee. The floor is **\$0.10** and advertisers can bid higher. See [Payouts](/group-owners/payouts).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="When am I paid?">
    A passing verification accrues your payout immediately at the locked bid price. Accrued payouts are settled on-chain in a recurring batch — no claiming step, no minimum balance. Earnings show as pending until the batch settles them.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Are my existing members affected?">
    No. Canvas only intercepts new joins. Periodic re-verification of existing members is a Phase 2 feature and is opt-in — see [Re-verification](/group-owners/re-verification).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is there a minimum group size?">
    Not during early access. Groups are manually approved in the whitelist phase.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Advertisers

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How do I run a campaign?">
    Fund a campaign through the bot's buy flow: pick groups by topic and size, set a bid per verification, and lock USDC into escrow. Budget draws down only as completions pass scoring. See [Campaigns](/advertisers/campaigns).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What do I receive per completion?">
    The transcript, the Kimi score, the group context, the on-chain settlement transaction hash, and remaining budget.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I pay for failed verifications?">
    No. Only passing verifications are billed. Kimi outages admit the user but release no payout and bill nothing.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I get unused budget back?">
    Yes, at any time. Request a refund via the bot; the relayer returns unspent USDC to your wallet. There is no lock period.
  </Accordion>

## Members and general

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What does a member have to do?">
    Answer a short, group-relevant question in a DM from the bot — typically 3–4 messages, under 30 seconds. No wallet, no crypto, no payment.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is Canvas custodial? Is it audited?">
    Users are never custodial — they don't connect wallets. Owners and advertisers control their own wallets. The escrow contract is verified on Basescan but **not yet audited**; an audit is planned before the permissionless phase. See [Security](/trust/security).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which chains are supported?">
    Base mainnet today, with USDC settlement. Solana is on the roadmap (Phase 4).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What data is collected?">
    Telegram ID, the transcript, timing, and wallet addresses — see [Privacy](/trust/privacy). No user data is written on-chain.
  </Accordion>
